The locals in Colorado City, Arizona were in desperate need of a grocery store as they were driving 30 miles to shop for groceries. In 2013, the residents anxiously anticipated the opening of Bee’s Market, a small 5 thousand square foot store, which would become a welcome addition for the rural Utah-Arizona border town.
Decorworx began helping Bee’s Market by creating a unique décor strategy that would add life to the new store and overcome the challenge of making the small store feel larger. The main theme for the store’s décor, naturally, was inspired by the store’s name: Bee’s Market. A clever honeycomb motif was implemented throughout the store to create a simple and lighthearted feeling.
References to the honeybee helped add an interesting spin to the store. Honeycomb patterns were used as the background for the product photos, which were extended from the wall to add dimension and interest. Bold letters on each department valance provided the guests with an easy to navigate store, creating a pleasant shopping experience. Warm earth tones were used throughout the store to create a comfortable atmosphere. Wood floor and specialty lighting in the produce department provided the store with a quality feeling, without feeling like an expensive, specialty store. Bee’s Market’s owners wanted everyone to feel welcome in their store.
Bee’s Market has been a great success in the rural community. Locals are happy to finally be able to travel a couple minutes to pick up groceries.
