The newly built Beverley Center, located in Cedar City, UT sits on the corner of Southern Utah University campus and is now home to the Tony Award Winning Utah Shakespeare Festival and the national award-winning Southern Utah Museum of Art (SUMA). Funded almost 100% by private donors, this project was an epic undertaking for such a small town. The branding and signage demanded great care and we went to work researching and developing ideas. This was a project with multiple decision makers. We started the project by creating the logos and branding style guides for the Beverley Center. We met personally with the directors of the festival and the art museum to understand their vision. The vision was to honor creativity and to help guests feel as if they were entering a gentler time. The artistic flair of their teams and desire for simplicity played into the branding and logo design as well as the signage. The Beverley branding reflects the marriage of arts and education speaking to the visionaries of the project. Sleek steel, cut with symbols representing the arts became the signs that stand throughout the site, navigating and inspiring all who come.
