How To Increase Interaction In Your Store

Creating an immersive experience for your customers is key to increasing interaction in your store. Because online shopping has greatly increased in popularity, it is now more important than ever to focus on what makes in-person shopping unique. Recent research has shown that people continue to shop at brick and mortar stores due to the ability to physically interact with items.

01 Include informational signage about your products

Including information about your products and/or services helps customers connect to your brand. When people are given information that answers their questions, buying hesitation decreases. In addition, informational signage has the ability to increase product engagement. Research shows that customers are more likely to purchase a product after engaging with it.

02 Install interactive displays

Companies like GameStop and Walmart often have interactive displays in their video game section so that customers can get an inside look at their games. Interactive displays help form a positive and entertaining experience for your customers. Installing interactive displays can also create an Omni-channel experience. Omni-channel means utilizing multiple platforms to sell a product. For example, if you install a display with a QR code to your store’s website, you are utilizing both face to face interaction and website interaction. Installing interactive displays can increase product engagement, create a positive experience for your customers, and expand your brand.

03 Hold classes or interactive activities for the community

Engaging with the community is a great way to increase interaction with your customers. This can be as simple as hosting a coloring page competition for children or having a cooking class to educate the community. If you host cooking classes, incorporate your store’s food products to increase sales. Making the community feel involved by hosting interactive activities and events has the ability to increase your customer reach and promote your products.

04 Encourage customers to touch your products

The ability to touch products is why people continue to shop in person. Having your team members encourage customers to interact with products is a great way to increase sales. Stores such as Bath and Body Works and Rue 21 often have their team members ask customers if they would like to sample one of their new perfumes. It may also be beneficial to have your team members give customers personal recommendations. Handing out samples of your products and providing customers with personal recommendations can help get the product into the customer’s hands.

05 Increase visibility of products

Customers tend to buy the products that are most visibly accessible to them. It is important to keep in mind that people buy products that are placed at eye-level. This is why many stores place their more expensive products at eye-level. There are many other things to think about when it comes to increasing the visibility of your products. You can use color, composition, and more to elevate your visual merchandising. When you increase the visibility of your products, you increase product interaction. Interaction increases in stores when customers are encouraged to engage with the products. While there are many ways to increase interaction in your store, your marketing strategy should always focus on getting the product in the customer’s hand.
